Robin Seir on why his studio is the only place that shuts out the visual noise that comes with this world.

In anticipation of his exhibition at Union Gallery, we visited the studio Robin Seir located in V22 Dalston Junction, where the artist has been working since he graduated from the Royal Academy Schools in 2016. “I like to work in a quite regular mood, daytime, Monday to Saturday. Dalston Junction is a 35-minute stroll from where I live, so I walk back and forth to my studio every day. I keep it tidy and avoid having too many things out.” Walking into the space, a sharply shaped plant and breathing space draws the eye- it seems it’s of great importance for the artist to be able to see what things actually look like.
