Abstract forms, disparity, poetic lyricism and the dark room.

During DATEAGLE ART’S studio visit with Fine Art photographer Erola Arcalís, she describes the cathartic process involved in her creative process, which demands both physical strength and acute attention to detail. Unsure of what exactly she is looking for Arcalís enjoys producing images that are suggestive rather than descriptive as she places herself in unfamiliar territory when looking for a new image. Mixing scale, she exercises the ambiguity of the natural landscapes she documents to create confusion whereby we are unsure of what exactly we are observing. As well as being an integral part to her photographic practice, Arcalís sees her studio in Hackney Wick as essential to providing a space for the local artist community.
