In praise of a community-environment.

Michaela Yearwood-Dan welcomes us to her studio space at Sarabande Foundation, London – established by Lee Alexander McQueen – where the artist has established herself for only two months. The artist reveals she was given a free studio bursary award by Bloomberg New Contemporaries 2017, which covers her studio costs at the foundation for a whole year, alongside the opportunity of hands-on mentorship and access to the heads of the foundation regularly. Comprised by 16 artists and designers that cross over many different disciplines in the studios, the artist admits this energetic work environment to be the perfect setting for the production of her vibrant works.
